Wednesday, June 11---Fort Lauderdale, FL---GameRecruiter, the premier recruitment agency for the interactive entertainment industry, today announced the official panel of games industry judges for their 3D artwork contest, the “Battle of the SuperModelers.” Presented in celebration of GameRecruiter’s 20th anniversary, the “Battle of the SuperModelers” is a one-of-a-kind digital art contest designed to support and promote both professional and student 3D artists in the games community.

Comprised of game industry experts in 3D art, the panel consists of eight judges invited by GameRecruiter to participate in the “Battle of the SuperModelers” contest review and judging process. The confirmed judges include Dianna Davies, Visual Development Director for Vicarious Visions; Jason Manley, President of Massive Black; Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer for High Voltage Software; David Perry, Chief Creative Officer for Acclaim Games; Bryan Pritchard, President and Chief Creative Officer of Barking Lizards Technologies; Shawn Robertson, Lead Artist for 2K Boston; Mark Snoswell, President of The CGSociety, and Nate Wells, Art Director for 2K Boston.

The “Battle of the SuperModelers” panel of judges will review completed 3D art from game artists who have created original real-time character model of a monster, creature, robot or alien that might be found in a fantasy, sci-fi or horror game. The contest Grand Prize Winner and three finalists will receive a combined total $50,000-worth of digital art tools and technology from contest sponsors Alienware, Autodesk, Wacom and The Gnomon Workshop.

Marc Mencher, CEO of GameRecruiter, states “As part of our company’s 20th anniversary, we wanted to demonstrate our boundless support of the 3D art community in the games industry. We feel that 3D artists are often the unsung heroes of the games world, considering that they are creating game characters and environments that consumers recognize and enjoy for years to come. We felt it was time for 3D game artists to have a public forum to show their original modeling work, and be acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts. GameRecruiter is proud to be the organization behind such a worthwhile effort, and looks forward to giving exposure to many deserving 3D artists.”

Digital artists interested in participating should enter online by Friday, August 15, 2008. Fifty art entries will make it to the finals and be displayed on the GameRecruiter contest page. Winners will be announced by Monday, September 15, 2008 and awarded at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin on Wednesday, September 17, during Austin GDC.
