Game Recruiting Guru Joins Speaker Line-up at WIGI Conference
Marc Mencher Talks About Breaking Into the Games Biz in Savannah

Tuesday, April 17---Fort Lauderdale, FL---GameRecruiter.com announced today that co-founder and president Marc Mencher will be a featured speaker at next week’s Women in Games International Conference in Savannah, Georgia.  Entitled “Advancing Your Career in Game Development,” the WIGI conference will be held on Thursday, April 26 and located at the Savannah College of Art and Design campus.  The event will coincide with the college’s annual Game Developers eXchange conference.

Mencher, a well-known specialist in game industry careers who has helped thousands of jobseekers land positions with the hottest gaming companies, will be speaking on the panel, “Breaking In: How to Acquire The Skills and Get That First Job.”  This discussion will focus on the which challenges to face when breaking into the game industry, the necessary skills for an entry level job in the game industry, and different approaches to getting hired by a game studio. 

Moderated by Sam Lewis, Lead Game Designer at Cartoon Network,  Mencher will be joined by Ismini Boinodiris Roby, co-founder of WomenGamers.com; Bryant Freitag,, Architecture and Licensing Lead at Big Huge Games; Darius Kazemi of Orbus Gameworks and Tess Snider, Senior Game Systems Programmer,at Trion World Network.

Mencher will also co-moderate the “Meet the Producers” roundtable with Jon Hanna, producer at Kaneva.   Drawing on his experience as an Executive Producer on several games, Mencher will talk with conference attendees about the role of game producers and what they really do on a day to day basis, plus discuss how to prepare for a career in producing, and the pitfalls and advantages to being a top-notch producer.
